Why We Built This Site
Michigan court records can be public without being kept in one local database. Leelanau's shared circuit and district structure adds another layer because the county of filing still matters. The Leelanau County Clerk is Clerk of the Circuit Court for county-filed circuit records, the 86th District Court has a separate local records channel, and probate has its own register. MiCOURT, local search pages, calendars, and public terminals do not always show the same layer of a case.
Our purpose is to make those official paths easier to identify. The content describes where to begin, which office maintains a particular kind of record, and why a portal result may need confirmation. It does not replace a clerk, an official register, a certified copy, or legal advice.
What You Will Find Here
The page groups follow the kinds of questions a person commonly has about a Leelanau County case.
- Docket paths: official criminal court docket and civil court docket channels.
- Dates: the court schedule and ways to confirm a setting.
- Search tools: a docket search by party name or case number.
- Copies: court case records, clerk contacts, and certified-copy routes.
What We Cannot Do
Leelanau County Court Docket is privately operated and has no affiliation with the courts, county government, or clerk offices. It cannot retrieve an official docket for a reader, alter a hearing date, accept a filing, remove a record, issue a certified copy, or advise anyone about a case. Those actions belong to the court or clerk with custody of the file.
For an official court record, begin with the court that holds the case and verify the current method directly with its clerk. A public search result is not the clerk-certified record.
Search Partners
The search widgets on content pages are operated by third-party providers. Their services, prices, and privacy practices are their own. A provider may compensate the site for a referral, but that does not change the official court channels described in the editorial material. Never rely on a third-party result in place of confirmation from the Leelanau court or clerk that maintains the original record.
